Call for Applications: MOSAIC Awards 2026

Applications are now open for the MOSAIC Awards 2026, offering scholarships and education awards to support immigrants, refugees, and newcomers in British Columbia as they pursue learning, leadership, and community contribution.

Each year, the MOSAIC Awards celebrate determination, resilience, and the impact education can have in building stronger futures. Through these awards, MOSAIC recognizes individuals who are advancing their academic, professional, or vocational goals while making meaningful contributions to their communities.

Who should apply

If you are an immigrant, refugee, or newcomer in British Columbia working toward post-secondary, academic, professional, or vocational education—and are committed to learning and giving back to your community—these awards may be for you.

Scholarships and Awards Available

MOSAIC Educational Enhancement Award

Six recipients will each receive $5,000 to support academic, professional, or vocational studies. This annual award is open to individuals pursuing post-secondary education or training who demonstrate commitment to their educational journey.

Eyob G. Naizghi Scholarship Award

A $5,000 scholarship awarded to a female refugee with future leadership goals. It supports academic or vocational post-secondary education and honours the legacy of Mr. Eyob G. Naizghi, Executive Director of MOSAIC from 2001 to 2018.

Ann & Jo-Ann Sobkow Award

MOSAIC is proud to offer a $3,500 scholarship to a refugee aged 25 or older pursuing education in a helping profession. Eligible fields may include education, health care, social work, counselling, or community development.

Dr. Kes Chetty Education Award

This annual award provides $1,000 to up to three MOSAIC clients, immigrants, or refugees pursuing academic or vocational studies. Recipients are nominated by MOSAIC staff based on financial need and demonstrated commitment to enriching their community.

St. Regis Award for Education and Growth

Created to support immigrants, refugees, and newcomers continuing their education in Canada, this $2,000 award recognizes the determination it takes to build a future through learning. Applicants must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a recognized program of study, including university, college, or vocational training programs in any field.
