About this Award

MOSAIC is proud to give this $1,000 award annually to up to three deserving clients, volunteers, immigrants, and refugees who want to pursue academic or vocational studies.

MOSAIC staff nominate applicants based on financial need and commitment to enriching the community.

 

Award Criteria

Nominations for this award are for:

  • MOSAIC clients or volunteers
  • Have a financial need (optional)

  • Demonstrate a commitment to enriching Canadian society

  • Open to all ages

2022-2023 Recipients

Rosa Al Lawati, Sean Celi and Karen Wong

Nastaran began participating in youth programming at MOSAIC in the summer of 2020. She began her post-secondary education at Langara College in September of 2021 and has a passion for social justice after coming to Canada as a refugee from Afghanistan. She also volunteers to provide language support to newly arrived Afghan families.

Hannah arrived in Canada from Eritrea in 2019 with her family, mid-way through the school year. She worked hard to catch up and graduate from high school, and has participated in a number of youth programs at MOSAIC, including wellness workshops, the Youth Documentary Project, and the NuYu Theatre Project.
