Are you or someone you know looking for BC scholarships that recognize leadership, resilience, and community involvement? The MOSAIC Awards 2025 are now open for applications, offering a total of $41,500 in scholarships and awards to support refugees and immigrants in British Columbia in achieving their educational goals and celebrating their contributions to advocacy and community-building.
Applications are open until April 30, 2025.
Scholarships and Awards Available:
MOSAIC Educational Enhancement Awards
Six recipients will each receive $5,000 to support their academic, professional, or vocational goals. These annual awards recognize individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to their education and future.
Eyob G. Naizghi Scholarship Award
A $5,000 scholarship awarded to a female refugee with demonstrated leadership potential. This award supports post-secondary academic or vocational education and honours the legacy of Mr. Eyob G. Naizghi, who served as Executive Director of MOSAIC from 2001 to 2018.
A $3,000 scholarship for a refugee aged 25 or older pursuing education in a helping profession such as education, healthcare, social work, counselling, or community development.
Dr. Kes Chetty Education Award
Three $1,000 awards will be granted to MOSAIC clients or volunteers. Nominees are selected by MOSAIC staff based on financial need and demonstrated commitment to enriching their community.
Presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to human rights, ethnic relations, or humanitarian efforts, and has not been previously recognized for their work.
Awarded to a British Columbia employer who participated in a MOSAIC employment program in the past year and demonstrated leadership in creating diverse, equitable, and multicultural workplaces.
Individuals are welcome to apply on their own behalf or nominate someone else.
