2020 Award Nominations Open – Seeking Applicants

Applications are now open until June 19 for nominations for three MOSAIC awards designed to embrace Canada’s diversity, and for one award to a current MOSAIC client or volunteer.

  • The $1,300 Ann & Jo-Ann Sobkow Scholarship Award has been established to provide financial support to refugees, aged 25 years and over, for the advancement of their post-secondary education in a helping profession (e.g. Education, healthcare, social work, counselling, community development, etc.).
  • The $5,000 Eyob G. Naizghi Scholarship Award is presented to a female refugee for leadership development through education and training. This award is to be used towards any type of education, course or professional development that will support the recipient’s future leadership aspirations in Canada.
  • The Human Rights Award is presented to a person or organization that has made a significant contribution in the field of human rights and ethnic relations, and in the field of humanitarianism, and has not been publicly recognized.
  • The $1,000 Dr. Kes Chetty Award is presented to a MOSAIC client, immigrant or refugee, who wants to pursue academic or vocational studies. Financial need, a commitment to enriching the Canadian community, and academic standing will be considered. This award will be made on the recommendation of MOSAIC staff, with up to three recipients awarded
