As part of MOSAIC’s annual fundraising campaign for United Way Lower Mainland, over a dozen members of MOSAIC’s Multicultural Women’s Support Group gathered on November 8th to prepared 50 Afghani lunches. Staff was given the opportunity to purchase a lunch for $10 with the proceeds going to the United Way. The lunches sold out in no time, and our staff was excited to enjoy an Afghan delicacy all the while supporting our community partner the United Way.
Other activities in MOSAIC’s campaign this year include dress down stickers, a bake sale, an auction, 50/50 tickets and regular pledge forms distributed to all staff. To learn more about the United Way Lower Mainland, visit uwlm.ca.
The MOSAIC Multicultural Women’s Support Group provides a space for immigrant and refugee women to build connections to the community and to learn about life in Canada. Our group of immigrant women meet regularly to talk, cook, learn about new programs and resources and participate in many different activities at MOSAIC sites and in the community.
