Newcomers Learn About MOSAIC at Career Fair

December 23, 2013

Newcomers had lots of questions for MOSAIC at the recent Career Education and Settlement Fair held at the Vancouver Public Library. Most of the questions came from individuals who were very new to Canada. One woman had only been in the country three weeks.Newcomers asked about learning English at MOSAIC’s English Language Programs. Several were looking for work, including three internationally-trained teachers, and wanted to know more about our Employment Programs and about the Skills Connect for Immigrants Program, in particular. Skills Connect helps internationally-training professionals find work in their fields in Canada. Several other questions were about volunteering. Newcomers have heard that volunteering is a good way to gain experience in the Canadian workplace.MOSAIC welcomes these opportunities to participate in community events and meet newcomers who could benefit from our services. Our big annual Job Fair and our annual Immigrant Professionals Conference are coming up soon. Check this space for announcements!
