Each year, MOSAIC offers a variety of awards to celebrate diversity and inclusion, support further education for refugees and immigrants, and recognize outstanding achievements in human rights advocacy. Applications are now open until April 30 for the 2022 MOSAIC awards. Find out more:
- Human Rights Award – Nominations for this award are for a person or organization that has made a significant contribution in the field of human rights and ethnic relations, and in the field of humanitarianism, that has not been previously recognized.
- Eyob G. Naizghi Scholarship Award – the $5,000 Eyob G. Naizghi Scholarship Award will be awarded to a female refugee for leadership development through education and training. Whether her leadership was highlighted in a refugee camp or in Canada, or by mobilizing people anywhere in the world, this scholarship will support her future leadership aspirations in Canada.
- Ann & Jo-Ann Sobkow Award – the $3,000 Ann & Jo-Ann Sobkow Scholarship Award has been established to provide financial support to refugees aged 25 years and over for the advancement of their education in a helping profession.
- MOSAIC Educational Enhancement Awards – These awards will be given to new arrivals and/or refugees who have been here for five years or less and who want to pursue academic, professional, or vocational studies. The Awards Committee selects up to four deserving recipients annually for awards of $5,000 each.
