Eyob Naizghi, Executive Director, has written an op-ed that was featured in the February 28, 2017 issue of the Vancouver Sun. This article is one of a series promoting SFU Public Square’s 2017 Community Summit, which seeks to engage the public in a discussion regarding Canada’s role on the world stage. Eyob focuses on the settlement of newcomers to Canada, pointing out that newcomers are successfully integrated through policy and governance, with the result that Canada is seen as “a beacon in a world of growing “protectionism” and “nationalism”, a world that pits one group against another on the basis of country of origin or faith.”
