Five new Board members elected

MOSAIC welcomed five new members to its Board of Directors at the 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM), which took place virtually on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

“Each new Board member brings a diverse set of skills and experiences, and we look forward to a dynamic and impactful year ahead,” said Board Chair Petra Kuret.

The new Board members are:

Marie Bassey – Marie comes to MOSAIC with a wealth of non-profit experience and a versatile professional background. She is the founder of an organization focused on empowering women and youth in her home country of Nigeria, and is deeply passionate about advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) causes in Canada. She holds an MBA with distinction from Vancouver Island University and a Master of Science in International Management from the University of Hertfordshire. She is also a certified Canadian Risk Manager and is also a Board Member of the Women’s Economic Council.

Indra Guha – Indra came to Canada as an international student at UBC’s Sauder School of Business and after graduating from the MBA program, he decided to embrace Canada as his home. He has worked with the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for the last 16 years and currently works as Vice President of Commercial Banking, leading the flagship Vancouver Downtown team. With a commitment to community involvement, Indra serves on the boards of non-profit organizations and has been an advisor to multiple organizations.

Tina Leung – Tina has over two decades of experience working at large law firms and multinational corporations in Hong Kong and Vancouver, holding several senior management positions. This has allowed her to travel to different areas of the globe and experience different local practices and cultures. Prior to her recent retirement from law, she was a member of both the Law Society of Hong Kong and the Law Society of British Columbia. She has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UBC and a JD (Juris Doctor) from the University of Toronto. Tina believes strongly in the importance of giving back to the community, particularly in the areas of education and immigration.

Fariba Pacheleh – Fariba is a passionate leader and strategic thinker with over 25 years of combined industry and advisory services experience in corporate leadership roles as well as on non-profit boards. In her current role as Director of Corporate Projects for the BC Liquor Distribution Branch, Fariba chairs the Capital Projects Investment Committee and provides governance and oversight for all new initiatives and major projects spanning from $200K to $100M in size. In 2020, she was the recipient of the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants Award for her community and volunteer work toward creating more diverse and inclusive work environments in Canada’s tech sector.

Emilie Roy – Emilie is a Provincial Director of Business Planning at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) where she provides leadership and strategic financial planning, budgeting and financial advice to the Information Management and Technology Services portfolio. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) with dual bachelor’s degrees in Commerce and Mathematics from Laval University and Computer Sciences from HEC Montreal. She has experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and leading organizational projects and change with multiple stakeholders.
