MOSAIC to deliver additional Pre-Arrival Services

March 3, 2019

MOSAIC is pleased to announce a partnership with Planning for Canada/Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) to provide pre-arrival services for new permanent residents destined for British Columbia.

In late January, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced new funding for CICan to provide pre-arrival settlement services to economic and family class immigrants with in-person and online group information sessions, as well as individualized planning sessions to support the social and economic success of newcomers before they arrive in Canada. The $18.4 million in funding for CICan is part of a larger initiative to improve services for future immigrants.

The MOSAIC – Planning for Canada/CICan partnership began on January 1st, 2019 and is part of a renewed pre-arrival services plan that aims to smooth the integration process for newcomers and assist them in contributing sooner to the national economy. MOSAIC will provide settlement (housing, transportation, education, etc.) and employment (labour market information, jobs in demand, local employers, etc.) information to hasten and improve the experience of immigrants destined to BC.

In partnership with Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS), MOSAIC already delivers the employment focused Settlement Online Pre-Arrival Program (SOPA) for BC, established in 2015 as a national pre-arrival service.
