On August 29, 2016, newcomer parents and youth discovered the joy of learning and meeting new people in a fun and welcoming NowBC event. The MOSAIC Settlement Program was invited to have an information booth at this great event organized by Vancouver School Board. Parents and youth enjoyed speaking to friendly settlement program staff and spinning the Multicultural Wheel of Food and Flags, winning prizes while learning about MOSAIC and our various programs for new immigrants.
During the event, great connections were made among parents and youth as well as other organizations and VSB staff members. Many newcomer families signed up to join MOSAIC services and were happy to take the first step to becoming part of the larger community!
