MOSAIC Celebrates Graduates of Care-Aide Training for Employment (CATE) Program

June 21, 2017

MOSAIC’s Care Aide Training for Employment (CATE) Program hosted a Networking Event at MOSAIC’s new headquarters on Wednesday, May 31st. The purpose of the evening event was to celebrate the graduation of 16 participants with a Canadian Health Care Assistant Diploma as well as to allow the new graduates to network and meet with industry HR professionals in the Health Care field.

The CATE Program* is intended for new arrivals to British Columbia who already have training and experience in health-care. Upon approval to enroll, the MOSAIC-operated pilot program provides participants with skills development, practiced placement, and employment support so that they can enter the Canadian workforce as certified Health Care Assistants.

Thirty-five people attended the event, including special guests from the BC Care Providers Association, Classic LifeCare, Comfort Keepers, Helping House, Saint Elizabeth, Nurse Next Door, Vinge and Associates, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Multi-Level Care Society and the program service delivery partner, Sprott Shaw College.

Attendees watched a video that highlighted the program and its successes and two program graduates shared heartfelt speeches about how the CATE Program has changed their lives and opened up job opportunities for them in Canada.
