Change is the only constant in our lives. It represents adapting to new circumstances and overcoming new challenges – something every immigrant experiences. At MOSAIC, change also signifies taking proactive steps and making a difference.
MOSAIC’s 2023-2024 Impact Report reveals how we continue to create opportunities for newcomers, advocate for inclusive policies, and expand vital services that break down barriers. This year’s achievements demonstrate the collective effort to ensure every newcomer has the support they need to thrive in Canada.
Key Milestones
Recognition of International Credentials: After years of dedicated advocacy, MOSAIC saw the successful implementation of the BC International Credential Recognition Act. This critical step enables internationally trained professionals to have their skills and qualifications recognized, unlocking more opportunities for meaningful employment in their fields.
Connecting Newcomers with Employers: In partnership with over 50 employers, MOSAIC helped provide 119 immigrant professionals with meaningful work experiences, helping them to contribute their expertise and integrate smoothly into the Canadian workforce.
Shaping Leadership: MOSAIC’s leadership training programs have transformed boardrooms across Canada. Racialized immigrants and newcomers are being trained to take on leadership roles in social, political, and civic life, helping reshape decision-making spaces to be more inclusive and diverse.
Stories of Resilience and Determination
At the heart of MOSAIC’s work are the stories of newcomers who have turned challenges into opportunities. These individuals have persevered through difficult circumstances, become active participants in their communities, and inspired those around them with their courage and determination.
“This year’s report highlights not only the changes MOSAIC is making but also the stories of community change champions – newcomers who have overcome obstacles, contributed to their communities, and inspired others with their resilience and determination,” says Olga Stachova, CEO of MOSAIC.
What’s Next?
Looking forward, MOSAIC is excited to announce new projects and initiatives that will continue to drive positive change for immigrants and newcomers across Canada. These initiatives will focus on expanding access to healthcare and community services while continuing to address systemic barriers that newcomers often face.
MOSAIC remains committed to creating lasting change by fostering inclusivity, equity, and opportunity for all. Together, we will keep building a more welcoming and supportive Canada for everyone.
