MOSAIC clients enjoyed a day out at Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park last Saturday. Staff and volunteers came together to organize activities, games and a BBQ for newcomers. There was fun for families, from face-painting and soccer for kids to a Russian music performance and Tai chi for adults and seniors.
MOSAIC staff and volunteers, mingling with newcomers, inspired a sense of community. The picnic provided a great opportunity for newcomers to meet and connect with one another, many of whom may be experiencing similar challenges as they seek employment and learn English, while settling in Canada.
It was wonderful to see clients from multiple programs come together to celebrate.
