The MOSAIC Community Clinic (MCC) is an initiative of the Burnaby Primary Care Network (PCN), operated by MOSAIC, with support of community organizations, and in partnership with Fraser Health, the Burnaby Division of Family Practice and the Burnaby Inter-Agency Council.
Situated on the traditional lands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Sníchim speaking peoples, the MCC provides culturally safe, trauma-informed health care services to Burnaby’s diverse priority populations.
Ahead of this exciting launch, we’re proud to introduce some of the compassionate professionals dedicated to making this initiative a success.
Dr. Valerie Imperial – Medical Director
Dr. Valerie Imperial brings 18 years of medical experience to her role as Medical Director at MCC. Immigrating to Canada from the Philippines at the age of seven, Dr. Imperial developed a passion for serving underserved populations. She completed her medical degree at UBC and her residency in Family Medicine at McGill University.
Over her career, she has provided care to undocumented and newcomer patients, building a practice focused on improving healthcare access and quality for Indigenous and immigrant families. Beyond her role at MCC, Dr. Imperial supports BC Cancer patients and the medical leadership team at Telus Health MyCare. She shares these inspiring words:
“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity” – Pema Chodron
Alexandria O’Sullivan – Lactation Consultant
Alexandria O’Sullivan is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with over 4 years of experience supporting breastfeeding families. As a mother of three, she understands the profound impact of accessible perinatal education and support for families navigating this critical stage of life. Alexandria’s care philosophy centers on empowerment:
“I believe providing good care to patients means empowering them with the evidence, information, and support they need to make informed decisions for their own families.”
Randolf Baniqued – Registered Nurse
With over 10 years of experience, Randolf Baniqued is dedicated to delivering patient-centered care that fosters healing and well-being. Known for his compassionate approach and deep understanding of patient needs, Randolf exemplifies the heart of MCC’s mission.
His guiding principle is simple yet powerful:
“Providing compassionate, patient-centered care that promotes healing, dignity, and well-being.”
Dilyadav Singh – Social Worker
With an immigrant background and a childhood shaped by the strength of a close-knit community, Dilyadav Singh is passionate about empowering individuals and communities to overcome challenges and thrive. He draws inspiration from his deep appreciation for social support and community resources to advocate for the well-being of diverse populations.
Dilyadav lives by the philosophy of sharing and support:
“A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” – James Keller
