The I Belong program is here to guide you through navigating a new country and language as an 2SLGBTQI+ refugee or newcomer and provide community support, one-on-one help, referrals for settlement needs, and counseling to help individuals within the 2SLGBTQI+ community.

Peer cafés provide an opportunity to meet new people, make friends, and participate in fun activities facilitated by the 2SLGBTQI+ support worker. This monthly support group is a safe space where you can connect to celebrate diversity, share experiences, and learn about community resources.
Connect with 2SLGBTQI+ experienced clinical counsellors to navigate personal, emotional, or psychological challenges, foster self-awareness, reduce anxiety, improve self-esteem, enhance personal growth and well-being. Group and one to one sessions are available.
Meet with other transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse newcomers. Beyond Borders and Binaries (BBB) is facilitated every month by community members with lived experience in collaboration with registered clinical counselors. Participants can learn about community resources, share experiences, and find support in a space that is understanding and safe for transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse newcomers.
One-on-one services are available in English language. Group sessions are offered in English, additional language support is available upon request.
We have individual and group counselling services and therapy sessions available on a monthly basis. You can reach out to the program support worker to schedule a session with experienced counsellors who specialize in 2SLGBTQIA+ issues.
Yes, confidentiality is a top priority in the I Belong Program. All interactions, including counselling sessions and support group discussions, are strictly confidential. Your privacy and well-being are respected and protected at all times.
