Refugee Employment Support Services Program

Helping Refugees Find Work

The Refugee Employment Support Services Program helps refugees who have valid work permit or have PR status find work in Canada. Get one-on-one counselling with an employment advisor to help you find a job today.

We provide tips in building resumes, job search tools, and interview preparation. You will receive access to job postings with employer specific information and get referrals for additional support.

This service is free and conducted in English. Interpretation may be requested.

Eligibility

You can join this program if you are:

  • A refugee with permanent resident status
  • A protected person with a valid work permit

  • A person under the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel
    (CUAET)

  • English level equivalent to a minimum of CLB 5

Program Description

You will get one-on-one counselling sessions with our experienced staff and learn about:

  • Resume building
  • Identifying soft skills
  • Canadian labour market
    information
  • Job search strategies
  • Interview preparation
  • Job maintenance

You will receive:

  • Employer specific information
  • Access to job postings and
    employer partners
  • Referrals for additional
    supports
  • Hiring events and job fairs

FAQ

Will MOSAIC provide me with a job?

No, the RESS Program does not provide jobs or job offers from employers. The program provides job search tools to assist you in finding work in BC.

Does MOSAIC write resumes and cover letters for me?

No, the RESS Program provides guidance in resume-building and writing cover letters. The employment counsellor gives advice on how to create a Canadian-style resume and can check your resume and cover letter for accuracy.

Do I have to pay a fee for the service?

No, this employment support service is free of charge.

Can I get information on the current labour market?

Yes, the RESS Program provides current Canadian labour market information to help you find out if your desired career is in high demand in your city, or if you need additional training in the field.
