February 13, 2024

As 2024 marks two years since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, MOSAIC is hosting a free workshop on Saturday, Feb. 24 to provide Canada-Ukraine Authorized Emergency Travel (CUAET) visa holders with services to help with their settlement in Canada. ukrainian in canada

The CUAET visa program, which allows Ukrainian nationals and their families to temporarily resettle in Canada, is set to expire on March 31, 2024. Visa holders are given free, extended temporary status and are allowed to study, and work in Canada, per Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Since the beginning of the war, MOSAIC has adopted a leadership position helping displaced Ukrainians continue their lives anew in Canada with language and employment services as well as:

  • English classes: Ukrainians on CUAET visas are eligible for free English lessons, with small class sizes both online and in-person.
  • Employment: MOSAIC settlement staff can help visa holders find jobs through its WorkBC centres, free of charge.
  • Settlement: MOSAIC staff can offer help during someone’s settlement in Canada. Make an appointment by contacting ukraine.support@mosaicbc.org.
  • Counselling: If someone needs mental health support, a counsellor is available to help. Email ukraine.support@mosaicbc.org.

Those attending the CUAET Ukrainian welcome event will be provided with further information and a chance to network during the workshop.
