MOSAIC Staff Contribute $9,891 to 2017 United Way Campaign

December 20, 2017

MOSAIC staff have contributed $9,891.63 during our annual fundraising campaign for United Way Lower Mainland. New fundraising initiatives for 2017 included a craft sale, car detailing and a potluck, and these, combined with annual favorites such as the bake sale, Afghan lunches and live auction, helped us raise almost $2,000 more than last year ($8,047.14).

Our thanks to MOSAIC staff who contributed via pledges and our initiatives, by giving their free time, and by taking on tasks outside of their regular work. A great deal of gratitude goes out to our United Way Committee members for leading the way and creating an extraordinary two weeks of internal fundraising at MOSAIC.

United Way contributes greatly to our community, as well as directly to our work here at MOSAIC. Since 1984 United Way has donated to our organization every year including:

  • $100,000 grant for our Newcomers’ Centre for Refugee Children and Families to assist children 0 to 6 years old
  • $57,000 ‘United in Change’ grant

United Way Lower Mainland has been changing people’s lives for the better since 1930! They help kids grow up great, help families feel a sense of belonging and make sure our neighbourhoods are safe and supportive places for everyone. Across Metro Vancouver and from the Sea to Sky corridor to the Sunshine Coast, they help make our community better. To learn more, please visit uwlm.ca.
