MOSAIC staff have contributed $8,750 during our annual fundraising campaign for United Way Lower Mainland. Our annual favourites – bake sale, Afghan lunches and live auction – were once again very popular. Additionally, this year staff created handmade holiday cards! Many staff members also contributed via pledges and competed for a day off with pay in the process.
Thank you to the United Way Committee members for leading the campaign, and to all the amazing people who stepped up and took charge of the various activities and made it so much fun for the whole organization.
United Way contributes greatly to our community, as well as directly to our work here at MOSAIC. Since 1984 United Way has donated to our organization every year including:
- $100,000 grant for our Newcomers’ Centre for Refugee Children and Families to assist children 0 to 6 years old
- $57,000 ‘United in Change’ grant
United Way Lower Mainland has been changing people’s lives for the better since 1930! They help kids grow up great, help families feel a sense of belonging and make sure our neighbourhoods are safe and supportive places for everyone. Across Metro Vancouver and from the Sea to Sky corridor to the Sunshine Coast, they help make our community better. To learn more, please visit uwlm.ca.
