Fifty-four employer organizations met with candidates from diverse backgrounds and levels of experience at the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver. Both employers and jobseekers seemed relaxed and positive at the all-day event and Abraham Asrat, MOSAIC Manager of Employment Programs, said “There was a great vibe in all the rooms today. Based on my conversations with employers, it seems that candidates were better prepared this year than in previous years. They had done their research before coming to meet the recruiters.”RBC was one of the top draws at the Job Fair and had a lineup from start to finish. It was their first time at a MOSAIC job fair and at the end of the day, their staff said it was a great experience for them engaging with candidates all day, and that they were impressed with the quality of jobseekers. This sentiment was echoed by many other employers. Factors Group said “This is the biggest hiring fair we attend each year and we found good candidates that we’ll be following up with.”Many jobseekers also expressed satisfaction with their experience at the fair, telling organizers that employers were engaging with them, with many accepting their résumés, and some even reported getting future interview dates right at the event.Media outlets also showed up at the event, representing Chinese, Filippino and Iranian communities.
