Three free April workshops to help immigrants and newcomers better understand the ins and outs of applying for a job in Canada are being offered in advance of a major May 9 job fair, presented by MOSAIC.
Targeting the general public, people with disabilities and displaced Ukrainians, the upcoming workshops will help individuals “prepare, standout, and impress recruiters,” said David Lee, Director of Employment Services at MOSAIC. As well, participants will get “expert advice to help them succeed and gain a competitive edge.”
The free workshops will offer tips and strategies, how to self-promote to recruiters, and will offer job seekers insight into what recruiters seek from employees.
For people with disabilities:
Friday, April 21, 10 am – 12 pm
WorkBC Centre Vancouver Northeast, 2555 Commercial Drive, suite 312.
For general public:
Thursday, April 27, 10 am – 12 pm
Online via Zoom, in partnership with the Vancouver Public Library
For Displaced Ukrainians

The workshops support advanced preparation for MOSAIC’s major annual Job Fair 2023, which will be held Tuesday, May 9, 10 am – 3 pm, at the Croatian Cultural Centre, 3250 Commercial Dr, in Vancouver.
The MOSAIC Job Fair already has more than 70-plus employers attending, looking to recruit prospective employees primarily in construction, finance, health care, insurance, IT, public administration, retail, and social services.
“The MOSAIC Annual Job Fair, now in our 11th year, is a great opportunity for employers and job seekers alike. This year, with a return to being an in-person event, it provides job seekers of all backgrounds to connect directly with employers across many sectors who are actively hiring for positions at all levels. Whether you’re looking to land your first job in Canada, or a new opportunity to advance your career, or you’re an employer looking to fulfil your hiring needs, we look forward to having you join us on May 9,” said Lee.
