Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship visits MOSAIC

Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship visited MOSAIC on January 3rd, 2019 accompanied by Terry Beech, MP for Burnaby North-Seymour. The federal minister was greeted by CEO Olga Stachova, MOSAIC’s executive team and three dozen staff, who shared information about unique programs and initiatives as well as success stories regarding community support for refugees and refugee sponsorship.

Minister Hussen talked about the importance of immigration to Canada’s economic future, as well as the need to highlight the individual stories and data to showcase the impact of immigration, saying immigrants add a lot to Canada and that “Canada is #1 in attracting the best and brightest in the world”. He referred to his ministry’s new campaign “Why Immigration Matters” for information the public can access to more fully appreciate the value of immigration.
