The event facilitates social connection and support using Photovoice. Photovoice is a research method that encourages discussion by putting cameras in the hands of people with valuable lived experiences so they can share their perspectives on topics. Participants will meet at MOSAIC for an introduction to the activity and then, proceed with a walk to Burnaby’s Central Park for the photo-taking portion of the event. The event concludes with a facilitated discussion about participants’ photos and experience.
If you would like to read more on the topic, information can be found on Photovoice Worldwide’s website. Benefits of Photovoice include:
Please note: all participants must bring their own smartphone to the event for the photo-taking activity. By consenting to the registration form, you allow MOSAIC to publish the photos taken by the participants while keeping the identities of the photographers confidential.
