About the Indigenous Awareness Workshop

Join us for an Indigenous Awareness Workshop every Tuesday in October with Andrea Montgomery, PhD, Founder of the Flourishing Foundation, who provides a voice and advocates for refugee-immigrants, immigrants, and indigenous women in Canada every day. This workshop will give participants a deeper understanding of the history, culture, and the current issues affecting Indigenous communities in Canada. Whether you are familiar with these topics or exploring them for the first time, this series will offer valuable insights.

What You Will Learn

Throughout these workshops, Andrea will guide participants through key topics, including:

  • The history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
  • Understanding traditional Indigenous cultures and practices.
  • Current challenges and issues that Indigenous communities face today.

The goal is to provide a comprehensive overview while encouraging respectful dialogue and questions. We welcome your curiosity, and we encourage participants to share their thoughts and engage with the material.

Why Indigenous Awareness Matters

Learning about Indigenous history and culture is essential for fostering understanding and respect. By participating in this workshop, you will gain knowledge that helps support reconciliation efforts and builds stronger, more inclusive communities. This workshop is a safe space for learning, discussion, and reflection on the role each of us plays in promoting awareness and positive change.
