Are you interested in strengthening your computer skills and accessing more online resources? Our Computer Café is hosted by the Accessibility for Newcomers Program, and we invite you to join their one-on-one training for people with all different types of English levels.

Our friendly trainers will work with you individually to help you learn at your own pace. Whether you are a beginner using the computer or want to improve your current skills, we are here to support you. Join us and discover how to use a computer confidently, stay connected with others, and find new opportunities. We look forward to helping you grow your digital skills!

• Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
• Location: Welcome Centre, next to the Reception area at the MOSAIC office (5575 Boundary Road, Vancouver, BC)

Who Can Join? 

Our Computer Café welcomes Newcomers who self-identify as having a disability. No matter your level of English proficiency, we encourage you to register and get started on improving your digital skills.

What Will Be Provided: 

• Free Wi-Fi access
• Coffee and snacks available for participants
• Height adjustable accessible computer workstations
• Use of software programs (Zoom, Google Search, and Gmail)
• Introduction to Microsoft 11 Suite including Windows 11 Accessibility Features
• Black and white printers and paper
• Language support available in Arabic, Farsi, Dari, and Mandarin
• Screen reader software for participants with vision loss
• Bus tickets for those requiring transportation

About the Organizer

The Accessibility for Newcomers Program helps connect Newcomers who self-identify as having a disability with employment and support services through Settlement Workers and Case Managers. Accessibility Program staff provide accommodation guidance, referral information, and support for access to MOSAIC’s programs and community services, including assistance with wayfinding, interpretation services, alternative formats, accessible technology, employment support, and legal advocacy.
