MOSAIC had an eventful July as we took part in various summer events. We celebrated Canada Day in Burnaby and Surrey, and participated in the Collingwood Days Festival and the Surrey Fusion Festival. These events allowed us to showcase our commitment to cultural diversity, inclusion, and community involvement and connect with the community in meaningful ways.
MOSAIC celebrated Canada Day in Burnaby and Surrey
On Canada Day, our team engaged with many individuals and demonstrated our support for newcomers through interactive games and activities at our booths. In Burnaby, our Moving Ahead Program and the Community Health & Specialized Programs joined the celebration, while in Surrey, our Gender-Based Enhanced Settlement Program, Newcomers & Community Building Program, and I Belong Program participated in the festivities.
Celebrating Canada Day with the community holds significant importance for MOSAIC. It allows us to honour the diverse cultural heritage of Canada while supporting newcomers in their settlement journey.

MOSAIC hosts a special event for Collingwood Days
On July 15, MOSAIC hosted a special event for Collingwood Days at our headquarters office. The event, organized by the Seniors Club, featured a variety of captivating activities that highlighted Chinese cultural arts, including Tai Chi sessions, knitting workshops, and a mesmerizing display of Chinese paintings, paper-cutting, and calligraphy.
In addition to these cultural activities, our Settlement & Integration Programs and Community Health & Specialized Programs were on hand to provide information about our services. It was a wonderful day filled with community spirit, cultural exchange, and connection.

Collingwood Days Festival: A celebration of diversity
At the heart of the Collingwood Days Festival on July 20, MOSAIC’s Employment Programs, Seniors Club, I Belong Program, and Community Health and Specialized Team come together to set up a vibrant and interactive booth. The booth featured a spinning prize wheel, informative displays, and fundraising opportunities to support our cause, featuring knitted items from our Seniors Program and tote bags showcasing the artwork of our Ukrainian clients.
The day was filled with joy as we welcomed with a diverse array of attendees who were eager to learn more about MOSAIC’s work. Our multilingual volunteers engaged with visitors in their preferred languages, fostering meaningful connections and dialogues.
MOSAIC at the Surrey Fusion Festival
On July 20, our dedicated teams from the Newcomers and Community Building Program (NCBP), Gender-Based Enhanced Settlement Program (GESP), WorkBC South Surrey-White Rock, MOSAIC Engage, LINC, and the Migrant Workers Program took part in the Surrey Fusion Festival, delighting in the opportunity to connect with festival-goers and spread awareness about our programs. We were thrilled with the success of the event and extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who visited us to learn more about MOSAIC’s services.
