MOSAIC attends SFU Women

October 7, 2016

On October 5, MOSAIC staff attended the SFU Women’s Safety Fair to promote MOSAIC’s violence prevention programs. It was a great success and many students and service workers visited our table for information about our services. There was a lot of interest in MOSAIC’s projects on ending forced marriage and violence in the name of honour, and they also showcased the Stopping the Violence program, Victim Services, Settlement Services, as well as the other counselling groups. It was also a great opportunity to learn more about the services other organizations provided and to connect with them.

MOSAIC offers free, confidential counselling support and outreach services for women who have experienced, or are at risk of, abuse, threats, or violence in an intimate relationship, sexual assault or childhood abuse. Staff are trained to work within multicultural communities, with women from diverse cultural backgrounds. Services are provided in English, Tagalog, Punjabi and Hindi. Additionally, in partnership with Ending Violence BC, MOSAIC leads an initiative to increase awareness of the issue of forced marriage in the community and enhance the capacity of service to individuals facing situations of forced marriage. Click here for more information.
