In The Name Of Honour Project

Violence against women is a worldwide issue and exists in all communities. Violence is used to maintain power and control. Violence used to control women and girls is sometimes “justified” in the name of “honour.”

This project was developed to help prevent and reduce violence against women and girls. It launched on June 28, 2014, with funding from Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE).

Program Description

Through our work in this program, we learned that promoting awareness can help reduce these types of violent acts. Open dialogue can decrease the risks of violence in the name of “honour.”

We seek to educate service providers about these crimes to improve the standard of care for women and girls.

If you are being threatened, or are experiencing abuse there are services available to help you. Call MOSAIC for help today.

If you are in immediate danger, please call 911 now.
