Next Steps is a free program for women in business looking to succeed in occupations such as sales, bookkeeping, project management, or administrative roles, who face multiple barriers to joining the job market.`

Thank you for your interest in joining our program. At this time, we are not accepting new applications. However, we appreciate your enthusiasm and encourage you to check back with us when the next cohort opens. In the meantime, feel free to explore the eligibility criteria and program details below. Please note, our Project Management stream is expected to resume in 2025 along with other new streams related to the occupations mentioned above.

Eligibility

You can join this program if you are:

  • A woman
  • Facing two or more barriers to employment
  • Unemployed or Employed Part-Time
  • Minimum Grade 12 or high school completion equivalent

  • Not receiving financial supports from similar provincially or federally funded labour market program
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada (work permit conditions may restrict participation)

  • Living in the Metro Vancouver area
  • Available full-time
  • Not a full-time student

Program Description

Unlock a world of opportunities as women in business with Next Steps:

. Financial Support: Get the resources you need to focus on your career.

. Tailored Training for each cohort: Equip yourself with hard and soft skills in sales, bookkeeping, project management, or administrative roles.

. Personalized Guidance: Benefit from one-on-one mentoring for three months.

. Transportation Assistance: We help you get to work and in-person classes by providing reimbursement to your compass card.

. Cultural Awareness: Embrace diversity, gain a sense of belonging, and improve your mental well-being.

What we ask of you:

. Full Commitment: Be fully available for six weeks of training and committed to full time work.

. Career Dedication: Ready to embark on a three-month journey in the workforce.

. Language Proficiency: English skills at CLB 6 or equivalent (TOEFL, IELTS, CELPIP or other tests or assessments).

FAQ

Is the program full-time or part-time?

Our program is designed for women in business and is full-time, with sessions scheduled daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Can I take the program fully online?

No, the program is designed to be hybrid, with in-person sessions happening at MOSAIC’s Highgate Village and via Zoom sessions, ensuring that women in business get comprehensive training.

Do you provide childcare?

No, the program does not offer childcare services. However, it does provide financial support during the training, which you can use to arrange it while pursuing your career in business.

What kind of job can I get after completing the training?

Our program’s goal is to connect women in business with job opportunities that match their experience and education. This includes roles in office administration, project management, bookkeeping, sales, among others.
