Settlement Help for Newcomers

The Gender-Based Enhanced Settlement Program (GESP) supports newcomer families settling in Canada.  It is free, confidential, and available for both men and women.

We give you all the information you need to settle into your community. We also discuss gender roles in Canada and promote healthy relationships.

Services are available in English. Interpretation services are available.

Eligibility

This program is free for any of the following:

  • permanent residents living in Canada

  • conventional refugees living in Canada

Program Description

Services include

  • help with identifying your needs
  • info on gender roles and responsibilities in Canada
  • emotional support
  • informational workshops on various topics
  • developing social networks
  • referrals to other community services and resources

How to start

  1. Send us your referral form below OR call us on the phone
  2. We talk about your needs
  3. You will get the info and referrals you need
  4. You can attend monthly group workshops and weekly sessions

Need help attending an in-person workshop or event? We can provide you with a bus ticket.

Services can be offered in a hybrid arrangement based on preferences.
