FAQ

Is the SOPA program free?

Yes! Our SOPA pre-arrival services are for clients who have received approval of their immigration application and have not arrived in Canada yet. All our tools, resources, and courses designed to help you return to your profession in Canada are free of charge.

Can I take SOPA program courses after landing?

Unfortunately, no. Our SOPA employment courses are only designed for pre-arrival clients, so we highly encourage you to complete our Job Search Strategies and Soft Skills Courses before your arrival to get the most out of them. Once you have landed in Canada, you will be referred to appropriate post-arrival services that can assist you further with employment, settlement, and English classes and testing.

Is this program necessary for Immigration purposes?

The SOPA program is not a mandatory program. It is one of many pre-arrival programs that help professional newcomers understand the current labour market of their professions in Canada, improve their job search strategies, refresh their soft skills, and enter the workforce with more ease and confidence.

Does the SOPA program match clients with job opportunities while still living abroad?

The SOPA program helps you arrive prepared for the Canadian Labour Market. This is done through the information shared through our courses as well as meeting with an experienced SOPA employment specialist from your province of destination. This will allow you to learn about the latest job market information for your field. During your employment counselling session, you can receive coaching in setting career goals and becoming more confident when engaging with Canadian employers. Your employment specialist can also provide you with clear next steps for your employment journey.
