MOSAIC Legal Advocacy Program

Legal Help for Immigrants and Refugees

MOSAIC’s Legal Advocacy Program provides legal info, advice, referrals, legal support, and representation to low-income immigrants and refugees. We help newcomers navigate the Canadian legal system, ensuring that they know their legal rights and responsibilities.

In-person services are available. No drop-ins.

Emailing us is preferred as we are often working remotely.

  • Permanent residency for Convention Refugees or Protected Persons
  • Citizenship issues for former refugees and people with disabilities
  • Difficulties in getting or renewing a Permanent Resident (PR) card
  • Family reunification of separated unaccompanied minors

Please note that as of Summer/Fall 2024: the immigration advocates of LAP are open to issues of family reunification of separated unaccompanied minors ONLY. We are currently unable to take new immigration law clients for any other issues. When contacting us about other immigration matters, we will provide a referral as soon as possible. We will be open to other issues by November 2024.

Please call BC Legal Aid at 604-601-6076 for help with refugee claims or appeals. We are unable to provide legal help for immigrants in the refugee determination system.
