Addressing Gender-Based Violence Against International Students

International Students Project

This program provides support and a safe space for international students in Canada. We discuss the impact of gender-based violence, sexual assault, and exploitation issues.

We are increasing awareness of violence issues affecting International Students. In our safe space, help students identify, prevent, and report these crimes.

Eligibility

This program is open to:

  • anyone who self-identifies as a woman

  • international students

  • currently enrolled in a university or college in BC

Program Description

Women international students often experience gender-based violence.  The program provides international students with:

  • individual or group supportive counselling sessions
  • emotional and practical support
  • advocacy and resource information
  • workshops with the local Police
