Welcome New MOSAIC Board Members!

MOSAIC welcomed four new board members at our 2019 Annual General Meeting, which took place on September 25th at its headquarters at 5575 Boundary Road, Vancouver.

Sylvia Ceacero has over 25 years of executive experience in non-profits. She has extensive experience in strategy, finance, HR, risk management, change management, governance, fundraising and more. Sylvia is also the Executive Director for the Simon Fraser Student Society at Simon Fraser University.

Paul Cheng is a registered architect, and a senior staff member at the City of Vancouver Planning Department. He brings with him knowledge of municipal planning and permitting processes, as well as architectural design skills.

Meeru Dhalwala was born in India and moved to Washington, DC at a young age with her parents. In DC, she worked with various international non-profit organizations on human rights and economic development projects. After moving to Vancouver, Meeru became known as one of the most successful women in the city’s food scene, as chef, cofounder, and co-owner of Vij’s and Rangoli restaurants, where she oversees kitchens staffed entirely by immigrants.

Serena Mawani is a manager at HSBC Bank Canada, focusing on acquisition and customer growth. A first generation Canadian, Serena attended the UBC Sauder School of Business where she obtained a Bachelor of Commerce, and most recently graduated from the MBA program at Simon Fraser University.
