Skills Connect for Immigrants Program Extended

MOSAIC is very pleased to announce that the Skills Connect for Immigrants Program (Skills Connect) has been extended through to March 31, 2016.“Through this Program, MOSAIC has helped hundreds of skilled immigrants find work related to their skills and expertise and we’re just delighted that we will be able to continue with this work,” says Joan Andersen, Director of Employment and Language Programs.MOSAIC’s Skills Connect Services are available in Vancouver, Burnaby and North Vancouver. The Program offers free one-on-one employment counselling, financial assistance with credentialing and skills enhancement, specialized workshops, job leads and coaching on how to do a successful job search.Feedback from program participants has been universally positive. Mohamed Anwar is one of the participants who credits MOSAIC with helping him achieve his dreams in Canada. Mohamed came to Canada as a pharmacist from Egypt. Through Skills Connect, Mohamed became accredited to work in his profession in Canada, he learned how to find the job he wanted, and he is now working as a pharmacist in British Columbia.Skills Connect is funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
