Saleem Spindari receives Service Recognition Award from AMSSA

October 1, 2018

We are proud to congratulate Saleem Spindari on receiving the Service Recognition Staff Award from AMSSA, which was handed out at the organization’s AGM on September on 28th.

Saleem is the sole recipient of the prestigious honour this year, which is awarded to a staff member belonging to one of AMSSA’s 63 member organizations. Criteria for the Service Recognition Staff Award includes having created, developed or implemented an innovative program that demonstrates significant, measurable results; and demonstrated leadership which champions teamwork and collaboration effecting positive change.

Saleem is celebrating his 14th year at MOSAIC and is the manager of programs for refugees and migrant workers. Among his many accomplishments, Saleem has facilitated close ties between MOSAIC and immigrant communities and, most recently, was team leader for the Metro Vancouver Refugee Response Team on behalf of MOSAIC, managing a team of 41 community resource groups to develop initiatives assisting refugees in accessing essential services to support their transition to Canadian society.

“I am thrilled to see Saleem’s work recognized by this prestigious award,” stated MOSAIC CEO Olga Stachova. “I continue to be impressed by Saleem’s dedication, passion, and commitment to clients. This well-deserved award reflects the deep respect the settlement community has for Saleem and his tireless efforts to support vulnerable people in their transition to life in Canada.”
