Approximately 2300 jobseekers attended MOSAIC’s 5th Annual Job and Career Fair, held at the Croatian Cultural Centre on April 12. With 55 companies and organizations actively recruiting at the event, and six other agencies in attendance to promote their brands and services, this annual event is one of Vancouver’s biggest job fairs.This has been the first year in which MOSAIC has hosted on-site workshops. Each event focused on a different employment sector and was filled to capacity. The sessions were:
- Opportunities in manufacturing – presented by Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME)
- Careers in banking – presented by RBC
- Employment options in the IT sector – presented by Poludo Institute of Technology and Media
- Certification options for technicians and technologists – presented by ASTTBC Technology Professionals
Abraham Asrat, Manager of Employer Relations and coordinator for the job fair said the addition of the workshops “has added another dimension to our job fair. The presenters were dynamic and passionate and you could see that they were very invested in giving information that would help the jobseekers.
