On Tuesday, June 26th, MOSAIC’s Wraparound Program held its official community launch. Thirty-five guests, including our program partner, the Vancouver School Board (VSB), service providers from the local community, and representatives of Public Safety Canada celebrated this moment with us.
The Wraparound Program is a five-year crime prevention initiative funded by Public Safety Canada. Wraparound youth workers assist at-risk youth in Vancouver to overcome their challenges. The success of the program will depend on collaboration with the local community—everyone, be they community members or service providers, has a role to play in creating a safer community for at-risk youth.
This community launch provided a great opportunity for Wraparound youth workers and staff from other organizations to exchange information and to learn about community trends. Guests left the launch with a better understanding of the program and felt better able to refer youth to the program.
We would like to thank our guests for attending, and we look forward to working with you over the coming years. Together we can create more opportunities for youth to reach their full potential.
The Wraparound Program offers at-risk youth ages 13-18 holistic support to enhance youths’ strengths and resiliency to manage the challenges and stresses that they face. To learn more, please visit mosaicbc.org/wraparound.
