Following the success of MOSAIC’s first Ukrainian Welcome Event in July, MOSAIC is hosting a second in-person event on Saturday, Aug. 27 to support displaced Ukrainians. Register for this free event here.
The first event welcomed 170 attendees, including 32 children, who received resources on employment, language, and settlement services as well as refreshments. Guests had the chance to connect with MOSAIC staff and ask questions about various aspects of settling in Canada.
“I am very happy – I will use my new notebook to learn English,” said Jane, a Ukrainian attendee who won the draw for a MOSAIC gift bag.
Guests at the second event will receive information on the different supports that MOSAIC provides:
- Language: All Ukrainians are eligible for LINC classes which are free government-funded English classes
- Employment: Ukrainians are eligible for certain employment supports that will assist them in finding work in Canada.
- Settlement: Ukrainians are eligible for settlement supports which are programs that help with many challenging issues in making a life in Canada.
