Music, food and a beautiful, sunny day helped to make the Pista ng Bayan Philippine Independence Day Festival on Saturday, June 7 a big success. The all-day event, where Filipino heritage, art, entertainment, culture and traditions were celebrated, took place at Vancouver’s Slocan Park. The festival brought out the crowds, and over 60 organizations – including MOSAIC, where staff had the opportunity to highlight programs and services to many newcomers. MOSAIC “tattoos” proved to be highly popular with children at the event.
