March 21 2015 was the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and locally, the day was commemorated with a Community March down Commercial Drive.The rain stopped just before the crowd gathered and made for a jubilant mood as hundreds gathered at Clark Park. The crowd eventually marched down the Drive towards Grandview Park, escorted by police who closed down the street ahead of the marchers. There were many signs amongst the enthusiastic supporters, with slogans denouncing racism and related issues. Amongst the many signs in the march were the banners with imprinted hands from the Raising Hands Against Racism Campaign, as well as MOSAIC’s organizational banner.
