MOSAIC’s Online Pre-arrival Services pilot has concluded as of March 31st, and we are now gearing-up for the next phase of pre-arrival services. To learn more, please visit mosaicbc.org/sopa.The program has received great response worldwide, with 45 newcomers successfully completing the online workshops between November 2014 and March 2015; eight of the program participants have arrived in Vancouver so far.In the evening of Monday, March 31st, 2015, the program organized a celebration to welcome the recently-arrived newcomers and recognize everyone’s contributions to the success of the program. The celebration led to great conversation and insight into how pre-arrival support strengthened the participants confidence in a new labour market after arrival.We have witnessed the hard work of the program participants, from overhauling their résumé and cover letters to absorbing new workplace culture in a matter of few weeks. We are very proud of their work and happy to announce that many of them have either received interviews or landed a job soon after arrival.We wish the rest of the pre-arrival participants a safe trip to Canada, and we thank everyone for their participation in the program and for choosing British Columbia as their destination for a new life!
