Falafel Fundraiser Raises $1,166 for MOSAIC

May 23, 2017

Bringing the love of falafel together with the love of community!

Our friends at the Arab Students Association at UBC (ASA) set their sights on both raising awareness of Syrian refugees and raising funds for MOSAIC at the “Falafilled with Love Falafel Fundraiser” held in the past academic year.

Student members of the ASA rolled up their sleeves and prepared delicious falafels, with proceeds dedicated to MOSAIC. Their appreciation of our commitment and continued efforts to serve and support the Syrian refugees in B.C. was the inspiration for this thoughtful and tasty event. They raised $1,166 and visited MOSAIC to meet with staff.

We thank our friends at the ASA for all of their love and hard work. Eyob Naizghi, MOSAIC Executive Director, and Saleem Spindari, Manager of Refugee Settlement Supports Projects welcomed former ASA Executives Farah Albashir and Zina Ghoul on their visit to MOSAIC.

Last year, ASA raised $10,251.33 for MOSAIC at their Syrian Refugee Benefit Gala. Click here to learn more.
