25 public servants from China visit MOSAIC

A group of 25 public servants from Guangdong Province China, visited MOSAIC on August 7. The visitors are in Canada, studying Canadian Public Administration at UBC’s Sauder School of Business.They were greeted by Sherman Chan, Director of Family and Settlement Services, Khim Tan, Senior Manager of Settlement Programs, Larry Chan, Senior Manager of Employment Programs, Mark Batt, Manager of North Burnaby Language Centre, and Daisy Au, Settlement Worker.The group enjoyed a tour of MOSAIC’s head office, and a presentation was given on MOSAIC’s history, vision, mission, programs, and funding, followed by a discussion about how MOSAIC works with three levels of government and partner organizations; and on how policies impact service delivery to newcomers.Many of the Chinese visitors were clearly impressed with the passion of the MOSAIC team in assisting newcomers to integrate into Canadian society.
