DESCRIPTION:Join us for an event dedicated to addressing the issue of gender-based violence\, with a specific focus on Indigenous communities within our own. This gathering is in solidarity with the 16 Days of Activism against Violence Targeting Women and Girls\, a global initiative observed annually. The campaign begins on November 25\, the International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women\, and Girls\, and concludes on December 10\, recognized as Human Rights Day. Let’s come together to raise awareness and stand against gender-based violence in our communities. \nWe have invited Indigenous communities to deliver a land acknowledgment and provide essential updates on the ongoing challenges surrounding Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women\, Girls\, Two-Spirit\, and others (MMIWG2S+). \nIn collaboration with representatives from the Burnaby RCMP\, we aim to deepen our understanding of the police’s role in addressing gender-based violence.
