You’ll leave with a certificate of completion and practical skills to make smart financial decisions—plus\, you’ll have a great time connecting with other youth. \nEvent Details\n\nDate: Saturday\, May 03\, 2025\nTime: 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (with breaks to relax and connect)\nLocation: 5575 Boundary Rd\, Vancouver\, BC V5R 0E3\nFree (lunch and snacks provided\, with vegan and halal options)\nRegistration Form\n\nWhat You’ll Do and Why It Matters\nPicture this: You’ve been saving your allowance for weeks to buy a new video game\, but when you go to the store\, you see a cool pair of sneakers on sale and can’t decide what to do with your money. At Dollars with Sense\, you’ll take part in: \n\nBudgeting Games: Create a pretend budget using “play money” to decide how much to spend on things like snacks\, clothes\, or saving for bigger goals—like that video game or sneakers.\nSavings Challenges: Learn how to set up a savings plan and understand why saving even a little each week can add up over time (e.g.\, for a phone or a school trip).\nGroup Discussions: Share ideas with other youth about how to avoid spending all your money at once and make thoughtful choices\, like saving for something you really want instead of buying impulsively.\n\nThese activities will help you understand how to manage money\, avoid financial stress\, and make smart choices—skills that will be useful now (like saving for things you want) and in the future (like paying bills or saving for college). \nWhat to Expect\n\nFun\, hands-on activities to learn financial literacy concepts like budgeting\, saving\, and spending wisely.\nOpportunities to connect with other youth while building practical money skills.\nA certificate of completion to celebrate your achievement.\nLunch and snacks (vegan and halal options available) to keep you fueled.\n\nWho Can Join?\nThis program is open to all youth (Ages 13-18)\, including: \n\nCurrent or exited MOSAIC clients.\nChildren of current or exited MOSAIC clients.\nPermanent residents\, citizens\, refugee claimants—status or no status\, everyone is welcome!\nYour friends\, classmates\, or neighbors—spread the word!\n\nRegistration\nSeats are limited\, and registration is required to secure your spot\, prepare certificates\, and plan meals.
