Join us for an event dedicated to addressing the issue of gender-based violence, with a specific focus on Indigenous communities within our own. This gathering is in solidarity with the 16 Days of Activism against Violence Targeting Women and Girls, a global initiative observed annually. The campaign begins on November 25, the International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women, and Girls, and concludes on December 10, recognized as Human Rights Day. Let’s come together to raise awareness and stand against gender-based violence in our communities.
We have invited Indigenous communities to deliver a land acknowledgment and provide essential updates on the ongoing challenges surrounding Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit, and others (MMIWG2S+).
In collaboration with representatives from the Burnaby RCMP, we aim to deepen our understanding of the police’s role in addressing gender-based violence. Through insightful discussions, we’ll explore the intersectionality of these issues and work towards fostering awareness and change.
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the community, ask questions, and participate in meaningful conversations.

This event is organized by the Multicultural Outreach Services. We provide free and confidential support for women experiencing or at risk of abuse or violence. Our Support Worker will create a safe space for clients and help them live a safe life in BC. Our services are free, confidential, and focus on our client’s unique needs.
